(cf. http://www.medailles-jeannedarc.fr/index.php?/page/11 ).
This medal was struck and offered by the City of Orléans to Nicolas Gérardin, guardian of the house of Joan of Arc. This house has been known since the 15th century. According to a website specializing in medals relating to Joan of Arc, the house belonged to the family of Joan of Arc until 1587 when it was sold to Louise de Stainville, Countess of Salm. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Gérardin couple owned the house. And it was Nicolas Gérardin, great-grandson, a former dragoon in the service of Napoleon, retired due to injury, who became the owner in 1818 (see http://www.medailles-jeannedarc.fr/index.php?/page/11 )
