Commento
Type inhabituel. XIV, n° 4/8).
Unusual type. On our example, the portrait of Licinius is very similar to those of the second issue of the VIRTVS EXERCIT type with VOT/XX (Bikic-Do, pl. XIV, nos. 111/119). Given the small number of known examples of the first issue, it is possible that the Licinius type is actually a hybrid combining an Augustus with a reverse reserved for Caesars. On the reverse, the standard's staff appears to be surmounted by a small cross (example: Bikic-Do, pl. XIV, nos. 4/8).
