Commento
example from the Franklin medalist, which features a relief of a Nymph from the Fountain of the Innocents or Fountain of the Nymphs: Located in Paris 1st on the current Place Joachim-du-Bellay in the Halles district. In Renaissance style, it has undergone various modifications and has been moved twice. It has been listed as a historic monument since 1862. On each of the three original faces, twin Corinthian pilasters frame an arcade topped by an attic and a triangular pediment. The naiads with veiled bodies, in bas-relief, are inserted between the pilasters. Each of the attics is decorated with mythological scenes relating to springs and fountains. The decoration of the base of the 16th-century corner fountain was composed of three bas-reliefs. Nymphs lying in the company of Tritons and small genies are sculpted there, surrounded by mythological creatures. These bas-reliefs are kept at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Medal sculpted by Georgann Schroeder. Theoretically, the crab hallmark is supposed to indicate a fineness of 800 thousandths.
