Nous n’avons jamais vu d’autre exemplaire de ce jeton et ne savons donc pas si l’axe en médaille et le décentrement (certainement dû à un balancier déréglé) est normal ou témoigne d’une frappe postérieure.
Il faut en tout cas noter que le revers ne semble pas correspondre uniquement au type puisqu’on le retrouve avant sur le jeton de la quatrième prévoté d’Alexandre de Sève, daté de 1662 et que la tranche est lisse. La tranche lisse pour un jeton en argent ne se retrouve qu’avant 1700 et certainement pas sur les refrappes.
Jeton donc au revers consacré à la naissance du grand dauphin avec son dauphin couronné, le buste est en tous cas de toute rareté et devrait correspondre à une cérémonie particulière.
On note que le buste n’est illustré dans le Guéant-Prieur que par la reproduction du moulage des planches du Feuardent, aucun exemplaire n’ayant été vu avant l’impression.
We have never seen another example of this token and therefore do not know if the medal axis and the off-centering (certainly due to a disturbed pendulum) is normal or indicates a later strike. In any case, it should be noted that the reverse does not seem to correspond only to the type since it is found before on the token of the fourth provostship of Alexandre de Sève, dated 1662 and that the edge is smooth. The smooth edge for a silver token is only found before 1700 and certainly not on the re-strikes. Therefore, a token with the reverse dedicated to the birth of the Grand Dauphin with his crowned dolphin, the bust is in any case very rare and should correspond to a particular ceremony. It should be noted that the bust is illustrated in the Guéant-Prieur only by the reproduction of the molding of the Feuardent plates, no example having been seen before printing
