Commento

Germain Chauvelin fut membre du Grand Conseil, avocat général, garde des sceaux et ministre d'Etat. Secrétaire-commandeur des ordres du Roi, il est surtout connu comme ministre des affaires étrangères.
Cas rare, ce jeton ne porte qu’un poinçon main sans la mention habituelle CUIVRE.
Refrappe certaine avec poinçon main. Ce type de refrappe a été fait pour collectionneurs et pour pallier à l’impossibilité de trouver certains jetons, rarissimes voire inconnus en frappe originale.
Germain Chauvelin was a member of the Grand Council, Attorney General, Keeper of the Seals, and Minister of State. Secretary-Commander of the King's Orders, he is best known as Minister of Foreign Affairs. A rare occurrence, this token bears only a hand-marked stamp without the usual COPPER mention. Certainly re-striking with a hand-marked stamp. This type of re-striking was done for collectors and to compensate for the impossibility of finding certain tokens, extremely rare or even unknown in their original minting.
