Poids très léger. Ce type rappelle plutôt les dernières monnaies romaines de cuivre des règnes de Léon ou de Zénon, raison pour laquelle ce type fut parfois attribué à Justinien Ier.

GIUSTINO II
(15/11/565-5/10/578)
Giustino II, nipote di Giustiniano I, sposò Sofia, nipote di Teodora, nel 548. Furono incoronati il 20 novembre 565. Giustino privo di ragione, fu infatti Sofia a governare con l'aiuto di Narsete, generale in capo in Italia, che finisce per disonorare. Non seppe affrontare i problemi e le invasioni dei Longobardi in Italia, dei Visigoti in Spagna, dei Sassanidi in Oriente. Pazzo, Giustino è stato associato a Tiberio come Cesare dal 574, e negli ultimi quattro anni è stato il regnante de facto. Tiberio II fu associato come augusto nel settembre 578. Giustino morì il 5 ottobre.
