Sur la tranche il est inscrit “MUNZVFRTRAG VON 24 JANUAR 1857” au lieu de “MÜNZVERTRAG VON 24 JANUAR 1857”.
Ferdinand de Hesse-Homburg fut le dernier landgrave de Hesse-Homburg. Il règna théoriquement jusqu’en 1886 mais en réalité le territoire était sous contrôle de la Prusse depuis 1866..
