Bronze frappé sur un flan relativement large et irrégulier, avec un portrait complet mais un revers un peu décentré. Superbe patine verte et brune

Descrittivo diritto : Tête masculine à gauche, les cheveux longs et bouclés, légende devant le visage ; grènetis.

Rovescio

Titolatura rovescio : EPHN[OS].

Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval galopant à droite, la queue ondulée, surmonté d'un oiseau de face aux ailes déployées ; légende sous le cheval.

Commento

La légende est hors flan au droit, mais entière (?) et stylisée au revers ! Le style du portrait ainsi que le traitement du revers fait penser à une imitation. L’oiseau du revers ressemble plus au cavalier ailé des drachmes du centre-ouest de la Gaule qu’à l’oiseau habituellement représenté sur ces bronze EPENOS.
The legend is off-flank on the obverse, but complete (?) and stylized on the reverse! The style of the portrait as well as the treatment of the reverse suggests an imitation. The bird on the reverse looks more like the winged rider of the drachmas of west-central Gaul than the bird usually depicted on these EPENOS bronzes
