Pièce bi-métallique commémorant l’ancienne province du “Lapland”, la Laponie.
La Laponie est la province la plus septentrionale de la Finlande, à l’origine peuplée de Samis (ou Saamis). Cette 5 Euro rend hommage au patrimoine culturel des Samis à travers la représentation de leurs anciennes coutumes chamaniques et leurs chants.
En 2010 la Rahapaja, l’institut monétaire finlandais a repris la frappe des pièces de 5 Euro. Une nouvelle série de 9 pièces de 5 Euro s’étendant sur plusieurs années a été lancée en 2010. Cette série est dédiée aux neuf provinces historiques de la Finlande datant de l’époque où la Finlande faisait partie de la Suède:

A bimetallic coin commemorating the former province of Lapland. Lapland is the northernmost province of Finland, originally populated by the Sami people. This 5 Euro coin pays tribute to the cultural heritage of the Sami people through the depiction of their ancient shamanic customs and songs. In 2010, Rahapaja, the Finnish Monetary Institute, resumed minting 5 Euro coins. A new series of 9 5 Euro coins spanning several years was launched in 2010.
