Commento
Susan Brownell Anthony (1820-1906) was an American civil rights activist who fought for women's suffrage in the United States. The Susan B. Anthony Dollar was introduced into circulation in 1979. The coin was originally intended to be a hendecagon, but vending machine manufacturers pushed for a circular design. Due to its resemblance to the quarter dollar, this design was poorly received and never truly accepted by the public. It was nicknamed the “Carter Quarter” or “Anthony Quarter.”
