Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle, avec cependant un petit manque sous le cheval. Droit un peu mou et une faiblesse à signaler devant l’animal du revers. Belle patine sombre et brillante

Commento

L'exemplaire BN 4628 du LA TOUR, celui de Lyon n°368 ou encore celui du British Museum ont tous une tranche irrégulière, jusqu'à avoir de gros manques. Ces imperfections semblent être caractéristiques de ce potin.
Au droit, la légende SELISV est particulièrement nette sur cet exemplaire !
Au revers, la nature de l’animal pourrait être controversée. Décrit comme un cheval, il semble présenter une ramure sur certains exemplaires, ce qui pourrait faire penser à un cerf plutôt qu’un cheval.
The LA TOUR example BN 4628, the Lyon example no. 368, and the British Museum example all have irregular edges, to the point of having large gaps. These imperfections seem to be characteristic of this potin. On the obverse, the legend SELISV is particularly clear on this example! On the reverse, the nature of the animal could be controversial. Described as a horse, it appears to have antlers on some examples, which could suggest a deer rather than a horse.
