Decency, creato Cesare dal fratello Magnenzio nel marzo del 351, rimase in Gallia per difendere il Limes renano dall'invasione franca fomentata su istigazione di Costanza in vista dell'apertura di un secondo fronte. Picchiato, Decency si rinchiuse a Sens dove si suicidò il 18 agosto 353.
