Ces monnaies ont été frappées avec la mention “CHIIE” au lieu de “CHILE”. La découverte fin 2009 de cette malfaçon a conduit au limogeage du directeur de l'a Casa de Moneda, Gregorio Iniguez, et du responsable des frappes, Pedro Urzua.
