This coin is an imitation of English sterling coins. Sterling coins and their imitations have been studied in detail by NJ Mayhew, Sterling imitations of Edwardian type, London, 1983. There are examples with two dots before the obverse G (Mayhew, nos. 15-17, pp. 32-33).
