Arnaldo Pomodoro, né en 1926 à Morciano di Romagna, près de Rimini, est un sculpteur, auteur d'imposantes et monumentales pièces en bronze, telles que celles de la série " Sphères ", " Cônes " ou des disques qui sont ensuite présentées au coeur des villes qui en font l'acquisition comme Rome, Milan, Tivoli, Turin, Terni, Copenhague, Brisbane, Dublin, Los Angeles. Le Musée du Vatican, l'O.N.U., le Kremlin possèdent également des pièces de l'artiste dans leurs collections. Celui-ci vit a Milan, ville dans laquelle fut ouverte la fondation Pomodoro en 1999. Ses oeuvres furent également exposées dans des musées à Milan, Paris, Ferrare, Florence, au Japon, Rimini, Cesena, New York. Arnaldo Pomodoro est considéré comme l'un des plus éminents sculpteurs italiens contemporains sinon le plus important de l'après-guerre.
