Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais bien centré avec les grènetis visibles à l’usure importante en particulier au droit qui est bombé avec un petit manque de métal derrière la tête. Patine de collection ancienne

Poids très léger. C’est la première fois que nous proposons ce type à la vente qui semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux. Ce type est parfois présenté comme une hemidrachme dont deux exemplaires ont été trouvés dans les fouilles de Suse.

Cronistoria
BABYLONIA - BABYIONIA
(331-306 a.C.)
Alessandro III conquistò Babilonia nel 331 aC Nominò poi Mazaios, un ex satrapo della Cilicia tra il 361 e il 334 aC, che si era unito al conquistatore, come satrapo di Babilonia. Mazaios morì nel 328 a.C. e fu poi sostituito da Stamenes tra il 328 e il 323 a.C., poi da Arconte tra il 323 e il 321 a.C.. Seleuco divenne satrapo dal 321 a.C.. Quando quest'ultimo fu espulso da Babilonia, fu sostituito da Peithon nel nome di Antigone le Borgne tra il 317 e il 311 aC 306 aC e fondò la dinastia seleucide. È l'ultimo sopravvissuto dei luogotenenti di Alessandro. Fu assassinato nel 280 a.C..
