Très beau bronze pour ce type relativement rare. Flan relativement large, avec un revers scyphate, mais l’ensemble des types de droit et de revers sont complets. Frappe vigoureuse au droit, mais un peu molle au revers

Diritto

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Descrittivo diritto : Au-dessus d'un rameau qui traverse le champ, petit sanglier et cheval (qui retourne la tête) face à face ; les animaux sont entourés d’annelets centrés.

Rovescio

Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Descrittivo rovescio : Sanglier enseigne à droite ; sous le groin, un bucrane ; sous le sanglier, deux petits annelets superposés.

Commento

Ce bronze correspond au DT. 2458A, mais avec un gros annelet pointé au-dessus des animaux (au droit comme au revers). Au revers, sous le groin du sanglier, ces bronzes ont normalement une rouelle ; cet exemplaire semble plutôt se rapprocher des bronzes ambiens, avec une sorte de bucrane (?).
This bronze corresponds to DT. 2458A, but with a large pointed ringlet above the animals (on the obverse as well as on the reverse). On the reverse, under the boar's snout, these bronzes normally have a wheel; this example seems to be closer to the Ambian bronzes, with a sort of bucranium (?)
