C'est la première fois que nous proposons ce rarissime bronze à la vente. Nous ne l’avons d’ailleurs jamais vu en vente ailleurs !
Au droit, la légende est complète, mais en bord de flan.
Lors de la parution du Nouvel Atlas, le bronze DT. 2446B était complètement inédit et la légende incertaine. Celle-ci est depuis confirmée, entre autre par cet exemplaire.
Les auteurs font fort justement remarquer les similitudes de traitement de la tête avec celle des bronzes ECTA EBVRO DT. 2432 et du bronze anépigraphe au sanglier DT. 2447.
La légende n’est pas sans rappeler celle d’ADDEDOMAROS chez les Trinovantes de l’île de Bretagne.
This is the first time we are offering this extremely rare bronze for sale. We have never seen it for sale anywhere else! On the obverse, the legend is complete, but on the edge of the flan. When the New Atlas was published, the bronze DT. 2446B was completely unpublished and the legend uncertain. This has since been confirmed, among other things, by this example. The authors rightly point out the similarities in the treatment of the head with that of the ECTA EBVRO bronzes DT. 2432 and the anepigraphic bronze with a boar DT. 2447. The legend is reminiscent of that of ADDEDOMAROS among the Trinovantes of the island of Brittany
