Diritto

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.

Descrittivo diritto : Tête barbare, très stylisée à droite, les cheveux hirsutes ; des petits traits parallèles devant la bouche, un globule et une sorte de V.

Rovescio

Titolatura rovescio : VICO.

Descrittivo rovescio : Carré perlé, avec un annelet au centre, accosté des pseudo-lettres V, I et C (trois globules dans le champ).

Commento

La variété dite VICO vient les ornements du carré perlé du revers ; les lettres V, I, C et O y sont interprétée. Il est à noter que cet exemplaire présente un annelet qui n’est pas pointé (en guise de O).
Cet exemplaire correspond exactement aux n° 197 et 198 d’Oxford qui sont indiqués appartenir à la sous variété 1.
T. Abramson regroupe ces monnaies sous la “Frankener variété B”, en référence à la trouvaille de 360 monnaies de ce type à Leeuwarden (GB) publiée en 1870 par J. Dirks.
The so-called VICO variety comes from the ornaments of the pearl square on the reverse; the letters V, I, C and O are interpreted there. It should be noted that this example has an annulet that is not pointed (as an O). This example corresponds exactly to Oxford nos. 197 and 198, which are indicated to belong to sub-variety 1. T.
