Très bel exemplaire, de frappe légèrement décentrée, mais avec des types pourtant presque complets. Patine grise et un peu poreuse sur de vigoureux reliefs

Descrittivo diritto : Tête barbare, très stylisée à droite, les cheveux hirsutes ; une croisette devant la bouche et annelet à la base du cou.

Descrittivo rovescio : Annelet entouré d’un T, de trois globules, d’un V pointé et d’un I pointé, posés aux quatre coins ; l’ensemble dans un carré perlé ; un T bouleté et renversé à l’exergue.

Commento

Ce type de tête, avec le nez, l'œil et la bouche marqués est assez original dans ce monnayage. L’association de la croisette devant la bouche et de l’annelet à la base du cou est assez originale ; le n° 209 d’Oxford y correspond exactement, avec le même type de revers. Si trois exemplaires de ce type sont proposés dans le MONETAE I, celui-ci est plus complet et plus beau.
This type of head, with its marked nose, eye, and mouth, is quite original in this coinage. The combination of the cross in front of the mouth and the ringlet at the base of the neck is quite original; Oxford No. 209 corresponds exactly to it, with the same type of reverse. While three examples of this type are offered in MONETAE I, this one is more complete and more beautiful.
