Très agréable monnaie avec un droit de frappe vigoureuse et un revers un peu plus mou avec un défaut de flan entre 12 et 4 heures. Très belle patine sombre et brillante

Descrittivo rovescio : Carré perlé, avec un annelet pointé au centre, accosté de quatre petits V pointés dans les angles.

Commento

Les exemplaires publiés semblent tous avoir la tête à droite, et non pas à gauche comme sur cet exemplaire. Le n° 199 du musée d’Oxford est classé en imitation de la variété VICO ; d’après l'implantation de la chevelure, la tête serait aussi à gauche.
Devant le visage, une sorte de A ou de monogramme est particulièrement bien venu. On ne retrouve de motif comparable sur aucune autre monnaie publiée, mais il est néanmoins proche du A des monnaies avec AZO (cf. Oxford n° 203-205).
The published examples all seem to have the head on the right, not on the left as in this example. No. 199 from the Oxford Museum is classified as an imitation of the VICO variety; based on the hair placement, the head would also be on the left. In front of the face, a sort of A or monogram is particularly appropriate. A comparable motif is not found on any other published coin, but it is nevertheless close to the A on coins with AZO (cf. Oxford nos. 203-205).
