Cronistoria

ALLEMAGNE - ROYAUME DE HANOVRE - GEORGES III D'ANGLETERRE

(1760-1820)

Georges III (4/06/1738-29/01-1820) è il nipote di Georges II. Successe a suo nonno nel 1760 e divenne re d'Inghilterra. La famiglia di Georges è originaria di Brunswick, in Germania. Egli è quindi anche Duca di Brunswick, e, come tale, elettore dell'Imperatore. Georges mantenne Brunswick fino al 1807, quando questa regione fu separata per formare il regno di Vestfalia, che fu dato all'ultimo fratello di Napoleone, Jérôme (1784-1860). Georges III recupererà un Brunswick allargato, dopo il 1815, che sarà eretto in un regno sotto il nome di Hannover. Questo regno sarà annesso alla Prussia nel 1866.
