ÉPREUVE du verso en couleurs sur grande feuille sans filigrane du 5 F Amphitrite et Pêcheur, type 1949. Ce projet de William Fel destiné à remplacer le 5 Francs Berger ne sera pas émis et cette petite valeur sera abandonnée jusqu’au passage aux nouveaux francs.
Le recto présentant Amphitrite est connu par des essais en 1954. Ces essais atypiques, avec une valeur faciale de 1000 F reprennent la vignette Amphitrite en l’agrandissant et avec une impression en offset (pas de gravure et impression 4 couleurs) à l’identique.
Cette vignette du verso, gravée avec impression en quadrichromie, présente un pécheur ainsi que des embarcations et reprend dans les coins les coquilles Saint Jacques du recto.
Très rare, vignette inconnue à ce jour. Format feuille 23,5cm x 14cm, vignette : 9cm x 5,5cm..
PROOF of the reverse in color on a large sheet without watermark of the 5 F Amphitrite and Fisherman, type 1949. This project by William Fel intended to replace the 5 Francs Berger will not be issued and this small value will be abandoned until the transition to the new francs. The front showing Amphitrite is known from tests in 1954. These atypical tests, with a face value of 1000 F, reproduce the Amphitrite vignette by enlarging it and with an identical offset printing (no engraving and 4-color printing). This vignette on the back, engraved with four-color printing, presents a fisherman as well as boats and reproduces in the corners the scallops from the front. Very rare, vignette unknown to date. Sheet size 23.5cm x 14cm, vignette: 9cm x 5.5cm.
