Deux épreuves unifaces (recto seul et verso seul), sur papier fiduciaire grandes marges, sans filigrane, collées sur une page cartonnée à fenêtres. Pas de date, signatures ou numérotation, ni texte au centre. Sur le recto, en marge au crayon : "Bon à tirer. Luc Olivier Merson 26 juin 1907" et sur le verso "approuvé bon à tirer. Luc Olivier Merson, 11 décembre 189[5]". (Nous lisons 1895, mais il s'agit probablement de 1899. Les textes sont en partie cachés par le carton, mais à cet endroit le papier n'est pas collé). En marge, il manque "F.Florian et C.Romagnol SC" alors que le nom de Merson est bien imprimé à gauche. Sur le recto il n'y a pas encore les cartouches.
Avec cette date de 1899 et ces variantes, cet exemplaire confirme ce qu'explique A. Dailly dans les "Cahiers anecdotiques de la Banque de France' : "Le 15 mars 1900, le Comité des livres et portefeuilles et le Comité des billets réunis donnent un avis favorable pour un des essais qui lui ont été présentés pour la gravure à 4 couleurs du nouveau billet de 100 francs".
Two single-sided proofs (front only and back only), on wide-margined fiduciary paper, without watermark, glued onto a cardboard page with windows. No date, signatures or numbering, nor text in the center. On the front, in the margin in pencil: \\\"Bon à tirage. Luc Olivier Merson 26 juin 1907\\\" and on the back \\\"approved good to print. Luc Olivier Merson, 11 décembre 189[5]\\\". (We read 1895, but it is probably 1899. The texts are partly hidden by the cardboard, but in this place the paper is not glued). In the margin, \\\"F.Florian et C.Romagnol SC\\\" is missing while Merson's name is clearly printed on the left. On the front there are not yet the cartridges. With this date of 1899 and these variants, this example confirms what A. Dailly explains in the \\\"Cahiers anecdotiques de la Banque de France\\\": \\\"On March 15, 1900, the Books and Wallets Committee and the Banknotes Committee jointly gave a favorable opinion for one of the tests presented to it for the 4-color engraving of the new 100 franc note\\\"
