Commento
La représentation d’un personnage en pied est assez exceptionnelle sur des bronzes gaulois, mise à part l’abondante série au personnage courant des Bellovaques !
L'attribution aux Turons n’est peut-être pas satisfaisante, mais l’aire de répartition de ces bronzes, comme de tant d’autres attribués aux Carnutes, semble localisée au sud de la Touraine...
Cet exemplaire offre clairement un revers anépigraphe.
The representation of a full-length figure is quite exceptional on Gallic bronzes, apart from the abundant series with the running figure of the Bellovaci! The attribution to the Turons is perhaps not satisfactory, but the distribution area of these bronzes, like so many others attributed to the Carnutes, seems to be located in the south of Touraine... This example clearly has an anepigraphic reverse

Il popolo dei Turons, insediatosi nella Loira, lasciò il proprio nome a Tours e Touraine. Sono citati più volte nei Commentari di Cesare. Sembra che siano cresciuti in importanza dopo la scomparsa dell'impero di Arverne nel 121 aC Come i Picton, i Turon fornirono ottomila uomini per l'esercito di soccorso che doveva liberare Alesia. Il loro oppidum principale sembra essere stato collocato vicino al sito di Amboise. Cesare (BG. II, 35; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 46).
