On peut se demander si cet essai en aluminium n’est pas largement postérieur à son millésime et plutôt à dater des années 1938/1939. On comprend mal, sans l’explication de la guerre approchant, l’essai d’un métal aussi peu noble pour une valeur d’une piastre dans une colonie aussi attachée à la monnaie réelle, en métal précieux.
One might wonder whether this aluminum test is not significantly later than its vintage and rather dates from the years 1938/1939. It is difficult to understand, without the explanation of the approaching war, the testing of such an immaterial metal for a value of one piastre in a colony so attached to real coin, in precious metal.
