TRACIA - ISOLA DI TRACIA - THASOS
(525-463 a.C.)
Thasos, situata sull'omonima isola, nascondeva importanti miniere di metallo che suscitavano la cupidigia dei suoi vicini. Durante le guerre persiane (490-480 dC), fu occupata dai persiani, il che potrebbe spiegare l'uso dello stendardo babilonese. Nel 463 aC, conquistata da Cimone, cadde sotto il controllo di Atene e ne seguì le sorti. La città riacquistò la sua indipendenza solo nel 411 a.C..
