Dans un guide pour touriste rédigé en anglais et publié en 1873, on trouve les renseignements suivants : “Steamers. — The Hirondelles Bordelaises cross the river every 5 minutes — fare, 10c Steamers for La Reole and Agen sail from the Quai Salinieres above the bridge (see plan), and for Blaye, Pauillac, and Royan, from the Quai Vertical in front of the Quinconces.
