Poids léger. La chronologie de cette émission a bougé. Elle a été abaissée. Au droit, le casque peut être lauré ou pas et au revers l’hippocampe est parfois avec une bride sur le cou. Le type avec le casque non couronné et l’hippocampe sans bride semble plus ancien.

Dionisio I
Durante la guerra del Peloponneso (431-404 aC), Siracusa dovette affrontare sul suo territorio la formidabile spedizione ateniese guidata dal 415 aC da Alcibiade e Nicia. Dopo il richiamo della prima, la flotta ateniese fu affondata nel porto di Siracusa e gli Ateniesi furono sconfitti sull'Assinario nel 413 a.C., Nicia messo a morte e i superstiti dell'esercito ateniese condannati ai lavori forzati nelle cave di pietra (latomie) . Nel 409 i Cartaginesi invasero nuovamente l'isola e presero Selinunte e Imera, poi Agrigento nel 405 aC Dionisio di Siracusa prese il potere e respinse gli invasori nel 397 aC Il regno di Dionisio il Vecchio durò altri trent'anni e fu Timoleonte che gli succedette.
