Cette monnaie n’est pas sans rappeler les statères dits globulaires attribués de façon incertaine aux Sénons ; les derniers exemplaires sont très frustes et la croix ne se devine plus qu’à peine.
Avec cette qualité d’alliage et ce poids de 7,38 grammes, cette monnaie pourrait aussi être un flan brut, avant la frappe, de presque n’importe quel statère lourd de la Gaule Belgique...
De petits lingots oblongs (au poids du statère) sont aussi attestés en Gaule....
This coin is reminiscent of the so-called globular staters attributed uncertainly to the Senones; the last examples are very crude and the cross is barely visible. With this quality of alloy and this weight of 7.38 grams, this coin could also be a rough flan, before striking, of almost any heavy stater from Belgian Gaul... Small oblong ingots (of the weight of the stater) are also attested in Gaul...
