Ce jeton existe aussi avec au droit les armes entourées du collier de l’ordre de Saint-Michel (Feu. 6489) et le millésime 1582 au revers. Celui sans le collier ni millésime est qualifié de “très rare” dans Feuardent.

Cronistoria
François, duc d'Alençon puis d'Anjou, Brabant et comte de Flandre
(1554-1584)
François (prima chiamato Hercule) è il quarto figlio di Enrico II e Catherine de Médicis. Fratello di Enrico III, portava il titolo di duca di Alençon e divenne il capo dei "politici" favorevoli all'alleanza con i protestanti. Con la "pace di Monsieur" del 6 maggio 1576 ricevette Anjou, Touraine e Berry. Nel 1582, i suoi intrighi con Guglielmo d'Orange gli permisero di essere proclamato Duca di Brabante e Conte delle Fiandre. Alla sua morte nel 1584, il Ducato di Alençon fu definitivamente unito alla Corona.
