Ce jeton avec le poinçon pipe sur la tranche a été fabriqué à la fin de 1879. Bernardin de Saint Pierre est né au Havre en 1737. Professeur et membre de l’Institut, c’est un admirateur de Voltaire et l'ami des encyclopédistes ainsi que de Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Il a effectué de nombreux voyages en Russie et Pologne. Surtout connu comme l’auteur de “Paul et Virginie”, il est décédé en 1814. Casimir Delavigne est né au Havre en 1793. Élève brillant du Lycée Napoléon à Paris, il fut un poète précoce et l'auteur de poèmes d'inspiration patriotique comme “les Messéniennes” (1818-1819) et de pièces de théâtre comme “les Vêpres siciliennes”, “Marino Faliero” ou “Louis XI”. Il fut élu à l'Académie française en 1825. Il est connu comme l’auteur de “Faites ce que je dis et non ce que je fais !”. Il est décédé à Lyon en 1843.
