Commento

Exemplaire issu du médaillier Franklin qui met à l’honneur une statue d’Apollon probablement par l’artiste Vulca : La sculpture fut réalisée en modelant séparément le corps et la tête, les bras et les jambes, mais elle fut cuite entière. Les surfaces étaient peintes : en noir les cheveux, en rouge violacé la peau et en deux différentes nuances d'ocre le vêtement et le manteau.

Cette statue est conservée au Musée national étrusque de la villa Giuila à Rome en Italie.

Théoriquement, le poinçon crabe est censé indiquer un titrage à 800 millièmes.
example from the Franklin medalist, which features a statue of Apollo, probably by the artist Vulca: The sculpture was made by modeling the body and head, arms and legs separately, but it was baked whole. The surfaces were painted: the hair in black, the skin in purplish red, and the clothing and cloak in two different shades of ochre. This statue is kept at the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giuila in Rome, Italy. Medal sculpted by Ernest Schroeder. Theoretically, the crab hallmark is supposed to indicate a fineness of 800 thousandths.
