Statère frappé sur un flan ovale, relativement bien centré des deux côtés. Revers de qualité, avec une bonne frappe. Or blanc avec de légères concrétions noirâtres

Diritto

Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Tête humaine stylisée à gauche, les cheveux figurés par trois lignes parallèles ; derrière, quatre globules et une croisette ; au-dessous, un fleuron ; cordon perlé sur la joue.

Rovescio

Titolatura rovescio : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval stylisé bondissant à droite, avec les restes de l'aurige au-dessus du cheval ; sous le cheval, un loup ; les restes d'un vexillum devant le poitrail.

Commento

Sur ce statère, on observe une esse sortant de la bouche au droit. Ce type en or blanc semble plus rare que les statères “traditionnels”.

Gli Aulerci erano suddivisi in tre tribù: Aulerci Diablintes, Aulerci Cenomani e Aulerci Éburovices. Il territorio di Aulerques Éburovices corrisponde all'attuale dipartimento dell'Eure. Sono citati più volte nei Commentari di Cesare. Secondo quest'ultimo, avrebbero massacrato il loro Senato favorevole ai Romani nel 56 a.C. e si sarebbero uniti agli Unelles e ai rivoltati Lexoviens. Nel 52 a.C. fornirono un contingente di tremila uomini all'esercito di soccorso. : Cesare (BG.(II, 34; III, 17, 29; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 7). Kruta: 72.
