Launched in early 2010, 'America the Beautiful' is a program of 56 commemorative quarter dollar coins depicting national parks and other national landmarks of the United States of America. Grand Canyon National Park is located in northwest Arizona. Carved by the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon stretches 446 km (277 mi), with a width ranging from 6.4 km (4 mi) to 29 km (18 mi). In some places, the depth can be as much as 2 km (1.2 mi).
