Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle pour ce type de monnayage sur un flan légèrement bombé, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait du roi. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Patine grise de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés. Conserve une partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Secundo regno
Nell'80 a.C., Silla impose Tolomeo XI Alessandro, figlio di Tolomeo X. Il nuovo re fece assassinare Berenice III prima di essere eliminato lui stesso, senza eredi. Tolomeo XII Aulete, cioè il suonatore di flauto, figlio di Tolomeo IX Sotere salì al trono. Si pose sotto la protezione dei Romani. Nel 58 aC fu cacciato dall'Egitto dagli Alessandrini e poi restaurato dai Romani quattro anni dopo. È il padre di Cleopatra VII, la Grande, che gli succedette.
