Les Sénoufos (ou Siéna, nom qu'ils se donnent et qui signifie ceux qui travaillent au Champ, le sénoufo) constituent une population d'Afrique de l'Ouest, présente au Burkina Faso, dans le sud du Mali (principalement dans la région de Sikasso) et en Côte d'Ivoire (au nord, autour des villes de Boundiali ,Tengrela et Korhogo), comptant environ 1 663 199 membres, soit 9,7 % de la population de Côte d'Ivoire.
Les Sénoufos sont essentiellement des paysans qui cultivent le riz, le mil, le maïs, l'igname, le manioc et le thé.

La Quinta Repubblica, la cui costituzione fu approvata con referendum il 28 settembre 1958 da oltre il 79% dei francesi, iniziò ufficialmente solo con l'insediamento del generale de Gaulle come presidente l'8 gennaio 1959. La costituzione fu emendata il 28 gennaio, 1958. Ottobre 1962 con referendum dove una maggioranza del 62% dei voti approva l'elezione del Presidente della Repubblica a suffragio universale diretto. I vari presidenti della Quinta Repubblica sono Charles de Gaulle (8/01/1959 - 27/04/1969, pensionamento e Alain Poher diventa presidente ad interim), Georges Pompidou (15/06/1969 - 2/04/1974, deceduto, Alain Poher diventa presidente ad interim), Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (19/05/1974 - 21/05/1981), François Mitterrand (21/05/1981 - 7/05/1995), Jacques Chirac (7/05 /1995 - 16/05/2007), Nicolas Sarkozy (16/05/2007 - 15/05/2012), François Hollande (15/05/2012 - 14/05/2017) e Emmanuel Macron (14/05/2017 - ).
