Commento

La médaille est accompagnée d’un objet supplémentaire. Un personnage, fait avec le même métal que la médaille, habillé en avocat et tenant dans ses mains deux plaques avec l’inscription : LA / JVSTICE . - CONSEIL / DEFENSE. Ce personnage peut être fixé à l’intérieur de la médaille, grâce à une vise qui lui est attaché et un percement au niveau de la niche au revers de la médaille.

La médaille est décernée à Monsieur Guy des Rivière (1911 -2002), bâtonnier du barreau de Québec, en 1970. Il a été inscrit au Barreau le 7 juillet 1933. Nommé conseiller de la Reine en 1960, élu bâtonnier de Québec en 1970, il a exercé sa profession à Québec pendant 50 ans jusqu’à sa retraite en 1983. Il s’est aussi occupé d’éducation et des affaires municipales comme vice-président à la Commission des écoles catholiques de Québec et maire de la municipalité de Lac St-Joseph. Grand collectionneur, il a passé ses loisirs à s’occuper de philatélie et de marcophilie. Sa collection a obtenu d’ailleurs des médailles d’or à des expositions internationales tenues à Paris, Toronto et dans plusieurs autres villes du monde. Il a été directeur de la Royal Philatelic Society of Canada et aussi membre du Comité consultatif des Archives et Musée Postal du Canada.
The medal comes with an additional item. A figure, made of the same metal as the medal, dressed as a lawyer and holding in his hands two plaques with the inscription: LA / JVSTICE . - ADVICE / DEFENSE. This character can be fixed inside the medal, thanks to a screw attached to it and a hole at the level of the niche on the back of the medal.

The medal was awarded to Mr. Guy des Rivière (1911-2002), president of the Quebec Bar, in 1970. He was admitted to the Bar on July 7, 1933. Appointed Queen's Counsel in 1960, elected President of the Quebec Bar in 1970, he practiced his profession in Quebec for 50 years until his retirement in 1983.. He also worked in education and municipal affairs as vice-president of the Quebec Catholic School Commission and mayor of the municipality of Lac St-Joseph.. A great collector, he spent his leisure time dealing with philately and marcophily.. His collection has also won gold medals at international exhibitions held in Paris, Toronto and several other cities around the world.. He was a director of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada and also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Canadian Postal Archives and Museum
