Cronistoria

BRETAGNE - DUCHÉ DE BRETAGNE - CONAN II

(1040/8-1066)

Conan II è il figlio di Alain III (1008-1040) morto per avvelenamento. Duca a tre mesi, fu infatti prigioniero dello zio Eudon de Penthièvre (1040-1060-1079). Conan fu consegnato dai baroni bretoni nel 1048. Divenuto maggiorenne nel 1057 e sostenuto da Hoël, conte di Nantes e Cornovaglia, attaccò Eudon. Rinunciò al ducato nel 1062 e mantenne solo la contea di Penthièvre fino alla sua morte nel 1079. Conan morì a sua volta, avvelenato, nel 1066. Gli succede suo cognato e alleato, Hoël II, conte di Nantes e Cornovaglia.
