The Bank of Central African States, or BEAC, the official institution of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), is a multinational public institution bringing together the six CEMAC states. Its missions are: to issue coin and guarantee its stability; to define and conduct monetary policy applicable in the member countries of the Union; to conduct foreign exchange transactions; to hold and manage the foreign exchange reserves of member countries; and to promote the smooth functioning of the payments system in the Union.
