Les victimes que le clergé soutient de son don spontané sont celles de la guerre d'Indépendance d'Amérique afin de contribuer à cette tâche nationale. Voir l’ouvrage de Jean Lecompte, “Monnaies et jetons des colonies françaises” pages 190 et 191. Cette variété est celle aux lettres de légendes petites et grasses. C’est cet exemplaire qui illustre le Guéant-Prieur.

ASSEMBLÉE DU CLERGÉ ET JETONS RELIGIEUX
L'Assemblea del Clero è l'istituzione ecclesiastica della Francia sotto l'Ancien Régime. Gode della protezione del Re e dell'immunità fiscale (formulata durante i Concili Lateranensi III e IV - 1179 e 1215). Vi sono due tipi di assemblee: le piccole, dette "assemblee di conto", che riuniscono trentadue deputati (due per provincia); e le grandi assemblee (sessantaquattro deputati) chiamate a risolvere questioni di carattere religioso (rapporti con Roma, protestanti, giansenismo, ecc.).
