Agréable monnaie, en bas or, frappée sur un flan régulier mais un peu court. Droit assez bien centré mais revers décentré avec une bonne partie de la légende hors flan. Fine patine grise

Commento

Cette monnaie n’est ni un denier, ni un triens en or ; le style et le type de métal semble la rapprocher des thrymsas anglo-saxons. S’il ne s’agit pas précisément d’un type connu, il est aussi possible que nous soyons en présence d’une imitation continentale de ce genre de monnaie. Ce phénomène est bien connu avec les deniers continentaux qui s’inspirent des sceattas (cf. les monnaies de Laon par exemple).
This coin is neither a denarius nor a gold triens; the style and type of metal seem to bring it closer to the Anglo-Saxon thrymsas. If it is not precisely a known type, it is also possible that we are in the presence of a continental imitation of this type of coin. This phenomenon is well known with the continental denarii which are inspired by the sceattas (see the coins of Laon for example)
