Statère frappé sur un flan légèrement irrégulier et un peu échancré sur la tranche. Droit énigmatique et bien venu, avec un bord ornementé. Revers d’une frappe vigoureuse

Diritto
Titolatura diritto : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Descrittivo diritto : Restes de tête humaine (?), sous forme d’une masse ovale et convexe, pratiquement lisse. Flan ornementé sur un tiers de sa surface.

Descrittivo rovescio : Cheval disloqué à droite, accosté d'annelets, de croissants et de globules.
Commento
Ce type de droit n’est pas sans rappeler celui du statère MONNAIES XV, n° 1197 sur lequel nous pouvions deviner une dégénérescence d’une représentation humaine. Il s’agit peut-être tout simplement d’un coin avec un bord ornementé ou une frappe décalée. Au revers, on distingue le grènetis (devant le cheval) venu d’une façon curieuse à la frappe.

Il loro nome, "quelli che sono su entrambe le sponde del fiume", indica che gli Ambiens, popolo della Gallia belga, occupavano entrambe le sponde della Somme (Samara). Il loro territorio corrisponde all'attuale dipartimento della Somme. I loro vicini erano i Calètes, i Morin, gli Atrébates, i Bellovaques. Il loro oppidum principale era Samarobriva (vicino ad Amiens). Hanno partecipato alla coalizione dei popoli belgi nel 57 aC e hanno fornito un contingente di diecimila uomini. Nel 52 aC, fu un contingente di cinquemila uomini che diedero per l'esercito di soccorso dedicato allo sgombero di Alesia. Cesare (BG. II, 4, 15; VII, 75; VIII, 7). Strabone (G. IV, 5).
